Attended
private
school at the age of five. The only achievement I can
remember, and my claim to fame while there,
was playing Titania, at the age of 8 or 9, in 'Midsummer
Nights Dream'.
Standard High School education folowed where I was usually
the one staring out of the window or etching
horses on my desk - GCE O levels & RSAs, both of which
included art - winning a place to Art College - followed
by a variety of creative jobs ranging from bespoke picture
framing to interior design.
I
have attended both formal and informal art courses over
the subsequent years. I have drawn and painted for as
long as I can remember, although I will admit that this
was sometimes sporadic while my children were young. A
variety of commissions have been fulfilled using oils,
watercolours or pastels andwork has been exhibited and
sold at numerous exhibitions. Creative writing workshops
and yoga classes, when time allowed, have been two of
the ways I use to both stimulate and clear my brain. I
first became interested in the potential of computers
when I bought my eldest son his first one when he was
about thirteen.
Eventually
a Pentium was purchased and I began to experiment with
graphics in Corel Draw and Photopaint. This interested
me enough to want to explore the wonders of the Macintosh
so I 'persuaded' my local printers to give me a job in
their pre-press department - I have been hooked ever since
and this led directly to my purchase of a Macintosh G4
as soon as they became available. Unfortunately for the
PC this has meant that it has been demoted to second fiddle.
